Overview

Funding will be focused on supporting charity partners who are meeting the immediate needs of our communities, including:

  • help for people experiencing physical and mental health issues;
  • financial assistance for people facing financial hardship;
  • support for ethnically diverse communities disproportionately impacted by the crisis; and
  • enhancing digital accessibility.

Eligibility

The Programme is open to organisations that satisfy the below eligibility requirements and must:

  • Be a UK registered charity
  • Pass Barclays sanctions checks
  • Have an annual income of more than £1m, as evidenced by its most recent audited accounts
  • Actively operate in the UK communities where Barclays has a presence
  • Be currently working to support vulnerable people and communities impacted by the COVID-19 crisis
  • Not have previously received Barclays COVID-19 Community Aid Package funding, including support through the 100x100 Programme

Assessment Criteria

Funding will be awarded to UK organisations best able to:

1. Demonstrate a track record and ability to deliver impactful, on-the-ground support to directly meet the needs of vulnerable communities facing social and economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak;

2. Articulate how funding from Barclays will be deployed to meaningfully support/boost their work;

3. Meet the needs of communities impacted by the pandemic, in at least one of the four priority focus areas:

  • help for people experiencing physical and mental health issues;
  • financial assistance for people facing financial hardship;
  • support for ethnically diverse communities disproportionately impacted by the crisis; and
  • enhancing digital accessibility. ·

4. Be in a position to utilise the funds within 12 months of receiving the donation; ·

5. Demonstrate positive outcomes from their programmes through high-level impact metrics; and ·

6. Effectively run the charity to ensure a sound financial position.

All applications will be reviewed by an internal Barclays committee who will look to ensure a spread across different geographical locations, communities being supported, and type of support work being undertaken.
