Overview
BAE invest in the local communities where employees live and work.
Everyday decisions on community relations are made locally by site managers. These include ensuring good relations with neighbours, addressing complaints such as noise and traffic congestion and allocating local sponsorships. Education programmes for both their own employees and within the local community remain a focal point of their community activities.
Sponsorship
The current criteria is:
- Community activities that promote Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) with young people;
- Activities that develop the employability of young people;
- Activities that are linked to the Armed Forces, Armed Forces charitable organisations or the Cadet Forces;
- Activities that preserve and/or promote the heritage of BAE Systems and its predecessor companies;
- Activities that make a positive social or economic contribution to the communities in which they work.
While those requests that satisfy one or more of the above criteria will be given serious consideration, there is no guarantee that they will be successful in attracting funding.
