Arts Council NI: Sustainability Programme
Overview
Transformation measures could include :
- Developing new business models;
- Establishing artform hubs;
- Exploring alternative sources of finance
- Mergers/partnerships
- Artform collaborations
The above list is not exhaustive and other measures may be considered if they represent a significant step change in how the organisation wishes to develop.
Funding Available
The total fund available for this programme is up to £500,000 and the Council will fund up to 100% of the costs. The amount of money available is limited and demand for funds will be high. You should note that, in the assessment of your grant, we will take account of your organisation’s management of any previous grants.
The minimum grant available under this programme is £10,000. It is unlikely that any grant will exceed £50,000. You should be realistic in your expectations and budgets and bear in mind that the Council may choose to fund specific elements of your proposal rather than the full project.
Who can apply?
Individual non-profit distributing arts organisations OR a consortium of non-profit distributing arts organisations, where the main objective/primary function/core objective of the organisation, or consortium members, is the provision of arts programmes and/or services to the general public in Northern Ireland.
ALL organisations, or consortium members, must have received at least £10k from the Arts Council in any of the previous 3 years (2013/14 onwards)
Application forms will only be accepted after organisations have had discussions with the Council regarding the suitability of their proposals. The agreement to the suitability of a project and the acceptance of an application form does not guarantee funding.
Organisations which have previously received Capacity building grants from the Arts Council may apply but will not be a priority.
