Ards Community Development Grants
Overview
The Ards Arts Committee Community Arts Development Small Grant Scheme has been set up to enable arts, community and special interest groups throughout the Ards Borough area to enhance existing, and undertake new, community arts activities.
MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHEME
(Your project must address at least three of the following objectives)
- To promote and encourage artistic development and skills in the community
- To encourage participation in creative activities and small scale arts projects
- To provide a measurable outcome of the existence/success of the project, e.g performance, piece of artwork, increase in artistic knowledge/skill
- To be of benefit or interest to participants and the wider community
- To promote the respect and awareness of cultural diversity through the arts
YOUR GROUP
Who is eligible?
- Arts groups such as photographic associations or drama clubs
- Community associations such as residents and tenants groups
- Special interest groups such as historical societies
Please note – a copy of the organisations Constitution or Articles of Association together with the most up-to-date accounts will be required.
Individuals and statutory organisations are not eligible for funds from the community arts development small grant scheme
What type of grant is available?
Grants of up to £250 are available. The community arts development small grant can represent up to 90% of the total project cost.
- Grants must be used to undertake new and/or additional activities or special events
- Grants can be used in conjunction with other schemes, such as the Arts Council of Northern Ireland
- Grants will not normally be given for capital expenditure on facilities or revenue costs such as rent or organisation overheads
- Grants are designed to support one-off projects, successful applications will not automatically lead to repeat funding
- Grants are given for expendable materials not equipment or instruments
- Grants are not given for travel or activities outside Northern Ireland
- Retrospective funding is not available
- Successful applicants must wait for nine months before submitting a new application
